Sign Self-Installation Instructions

SELF-INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations on your sale!

Does the property have a sign on it? Studies show that sold riders are a very effective way to build your business. If your sign goes down without a SOLD sign, most people assume you failed. They just expect you would put a SOLD rider up if you closed the sale. Potential sellers and referral sources drive by the property, work nearby or live nearby. Our agents have received great business from SOLD signs.

Two options on SOLD riders.

  1. Install yourself. It’s easy. The riders are in the stock room.  If needed there is also a small light aluminum ladder, hammer, and nails there as well. As soon as convenient return for the next agents use.
  2. You can pay to have the sign company to install them. The cost depends on the location but averages between $150 to $200.
  3. Please submit a request here if you would like the sign company to install them.

MEASUREMENTS

  • Take a pencil and mark the rider on the bottom of the outside edge a 1¾”
  • Mark the vertical side of the onside edge 5¾ “ from the top.
  • The last mark is on the edge of the sign face itself; this one is 4¼’’ from the top.
  • After those points are marked, start two exterior screws about 1’’ from the bottom edge and about 3’’ in from the left and right edges.
  • Exterior grade deck screws longer than an inch work well.

After all points are marked, walk up with the rider in one hand and the screw gun in the other, and match up all the pencil marks.  If you line up the outside marks first  then start the screw closest to them, it is easy to pivot on that screw until that inside edge mark lines up with the top edge of the sign. Once that happens, you set both screws and the job is done!
